IMPORTANT UPDATE COVID-19

We are collecting donations at this times but due to high levels of demand we are currently focusing on core furniture items and white goods. We aren’t currently accepting bedding, clothes, books or DVDs. We do have additional safety measures in place for collections which does reduce our capacity at this time. There may be slightly longer delays in arranging collections and we thank you for your continued patience and support.

Gateway Furniture Project - Donate

Donate Items to Gateway Furniture

Please be aware that we are limited to collections from within and around the Swindon area. We do collect from the following locations, Highworth, Purton, Royal Wootton Bassett, Lydiard Millicent, Cricklade, Wanborough. If you live further away than these locations, we may not be able to assist.

Items we are unable to collect

To avoid disposal costs, which would reduce our funding and ability to help those most in need in Swindon, we are unable to collect items that we cannot redistributed. We are only able to collect items which are in a clean re-saleable condition.Sofas, sofa beds, futons or any chairs with padding need to be in a good clean condition without any rips, stains or structural damage. The fire safety label must have the wording ‘Carelessness causes fire’.  With beds the fire label is different – it is a small blue label with a match or flame symbol.

If you're not sure we can take your donations, please look at our list below, which lists some items we do not take:

  • Car seats
  • Prams, pushchairs, buggies
  • Cots, carry cots, playpens, high chairs
  • Cot mattresses
  • Gas appliances (mains or bottles goods)
  • Gas cookers
  • Built in cookers
  • Safety Helmets - Riding hats, crash helmets, cycle helmets
  • Safety harness of any sort
  • Bicycles

Due to restricted space on our vans, with the exception of mattresses, we are not able to take items that are over 6ft high and 4ft wide. We recommend avoiding making any related arrangements(e.g. for delivery of replacement items) before your collection has taken place. With each booking we always say that the driver has the final say on all items being offered as they get to see the overall condition on the day of collection. We do not guarantee to take all items that are being offered.
