Gateway Furniture Project - About our Shop
Gateway Furniture operates from a town centre shop in Havelock Square, Swindon. We feel
very blessed to have a shop in the heart of the town centre and our passion is to serve
the people of Swindon from this location. We continue to develop our shop space with
a view to build community and provide a warm and friendly welcome to anyone who visits us.
In addition to the help we provide to households in need of furniture, through the referral
process, there is much more that we do within the shop. Below are some additional
things we do:
Sell household Items to the general public:
We sell good quality, affordable surplus items of furniture/white goods to the general public.
Essentially, this is how we fund being able to provide low and no cost furniture to people in need.
All proceeds from the sale of goods goes back into supporting other local people who are in need.
When you buy something from us, not only are you getting quality items at a great price, you are
also helping others in less fortunate circumstances within the local community.
We have a good selection of second-hand books. We give up to 3 books (per person) for free.
This is an amazing resource that not only builds a sense of community, with many people regularly
getting books from us and bring back their old ones, but it has a positive environmental impact
through avoiding many going to landfill.
We have a community café space (open from 10am to 2pm Monday to Friday). Tea and coffee is free and
it’s a great place to build friendships and connect with others.
Toddler Play Area:
We have a free toddler play area that is situated next to our café area. A great place to entertain
pre-school children in a safe and warm space. You can relax with a free tea or coffee whilst the
kids have fun.
If you are in the town centre, why not pop in and say hello? - We would love to meet you and tell
you more about what we do.
